How do I enable workspace Labs in Gmail?

 

Google Workspace Labs is a way for users to try out new and experimental features in Google Workspace products. Workspace Labs features are not yet fully rolled out to all users, but they can be a great way to get ahead of the curve and see what Google is working on.

One of the Workspace Labs features that is currently available is the ability to enable AI-powered tools in Gmail. These tools can help you to write emails more quickly and effectively, and to better understand the emails that you receive.

To enable Workspace Labs in Gmail, follow these steps:

1. Open Gmail and click the Settings gear icon in the top right corner of the page.
2. In the Settings menu, click the Labs tab.
3. Scroll down the list of labs until you find the Help me write lab.
4. Click the Enable button next to the Help me write lab.
5. Click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page.

Once you have enabled Workspace Labs, you will see a new Help me write button in the compose window of Gmail. This button will allow you to use AI-powered tools to help you to write your emails.

Here are some of the ways that you can use the Help me write button:

• Generate a new draft: You can click the Help me write button to generate a new draft email from a freeform prompt.
• Refine your draft: You can also use the Help me write button to refine an existing draft.
• Formalize your draft: The Help me write button can also be used to make your draft more formal.
• Elaborate on your draft: The Help me write button can also be used to add details to your draft.

The AI-powered tools in Gmail are still under development, but they can be a great way to save time and improve the quality of your emails. If you are interested in trying out these tools, be sure to enable Workspace Labs in Gmail.
